To enable BlastViewer to access to the Internet, you may have to use a proxy server. To tell BlastViewer to do so, select the command Preferences in the File pulldown menu. Within the opening Preferences dialogue box, fill in the proxy configuration fields, save the new configuration and restart BlastViewer.

Note: BlastViewer requires an access to the Internet only if you want to load Blast results directly from the NCBI Blast server. Click here for more information.
