Starting with the 2.2 release of BlastViewer, you can now directly load a result from the NCBI Blast server.

When you start a sequence search using the NCBI Blast server, this one will provide you with a Blast request identifier, or RID for short. This is the piece of information you have to pass in to BlastViewer to automatically retrieve your result file when it is ready.  To access this function, click on the first icon within the Blast results panel (the icon symbolizes a globe). A dialogue box opens where you can enter a RID.

Unfortunately, this function is not yet available for the EBI Blast system.
