| Installing KoriBlast on Linux |
|
Important notice: please, be aware that you must have administrative rights on your computer to proceed to the installation of KoriBlast. If you are about to install the commercial version of KoriBlast to replace an evaluation version, you do not need to uninstall the trial version. However, be sure to install the new version within the directory where the evaluation version is located; by default, this directory should be /opt/KoriBlast (see step 2, below). Step 1. Check your release of the Java Virtual Machine.
Some distributions of Linux are provided with a GNU Java that is not compatible with KoriBlast. Please read this document to check your JVM.
Step 2. Becoming root.
Open an administrator session on your computer, if it is not still done.
Step 3. Starting the KoriBlast Installer.
Open a terminal window, then go into the directory where you saved the
KoriBlast Installation Wizard. From the command line, type:
./KoriBlast-2.3.sh
to start the KoriBlast installation wizard, then follow the
instructions. By default, KoriBlast will be installed in the directory
/opt/KoriBlast, hereafter refer to as KL_HOME.
Step 4. Installing the License Certificate. A License Certificate (Evaluation, Single User or Concurrent) has been sent to you by email. You have to install that certificate by starting KoriBlast as the administrator.
Starting KoriBlast to install the License Certificate
KoriBlast
When you start KoriBlast for the first time, its License Manager
automatically asks you for the License Certificate. Follow the
instructions of the wizard to complete the installation of KoriBlast.
After installing a License Certificate, KoriBlast can be run by a user other than the administrator, using the shell script KoriBlast.
