The first release of KoriBlast's 3D visualization component was originally designed for the researchers of a pharmaceutical company. They asked to have a 3D Viewer closely integrated with Blast search results when running search jobs against the PDB .

This first release of the 3D Viewer of KoriBlast had most of the features available in today's release of the platform ; it was created using JMol and BioJava librairies, to which we added custom-made layers (command panel, direct remote connection to PDB data servers, interactive sequence and 3D selections, direct Blast job preparation, etc.). After one year of personal use of that component, our customer gave to Korilog the authorization to release the 3D Viewer within the standard version of KoriBlast. From that time, we have added some new features (such as the 2D-HCA plot viewer) and are continuing to enhance that module.

We have designed other personal KoriBlast's modules for some of our customers, but these ones remain confidential.
