LabCollector is a laboratory information management system (LIMS) aims at organizing a large variety of day-to-day useful lab information.

Using LabCollector, each scientist in the lab can manage quickly data and information and make it available to the rest of the lab community. Due to Intranet support, data can be accessed from any connected computer in the lab, which accelerates information retrieval. Laboratory staff spends less time on recurrent and time-consuming operations and dedicate more precious time to research activity.

The LabCollector LIMS is provided with the Sequence Module dedicated to the management of all sequences (nucleotides and proteins) produced by a lab. This Module is now available with a Blast tool, so that sequence comparisons and analysis can be directly run from within LabCollector.

This new service enables you to run search jobs using your own sequences as queries and/or target databanks. Two search services are available: NCBI Blast Server or LabCollector Local Blast.

Whathever the search services used, LabCollector handles automatically the whole search process. Results are stored within the LabCollector database and can be viewed using Korilog's graphical browser, KoriViewer, that has been smoothly integrated within the LIMS.
