Korilog Bioinformatics Solutions

Increase your productivity

Access online and local resources instantly To enable you to compare sequences with a wide range of databases, KoriBlast features direct access to numerous Blast systems available online and locally: the NCBI Blast server (1), the EBI Wu-Blast server, a WwwBlast (2) server or a local Blast (3).

(1) as well as the "traditional" databases (GenBank, SwissProt, etc), KoriBlast will also enable you to access numerous thematic databases offered by the NCBI.
(2) you probably have a server like this in your laboratory. If this is this case, Koriblast can use it directly.
(3) KoriBlast comes with NCBI Blast software: You can therefore use Blast on your computer with your personal sequence databases and/or a local copy of public sequence databases (SwissProt, Genbank, etc.) as required.

Access resources instantly

With KoriBlast you can forget the endless copying/pasting of sequences and manual database queries required by web interfaces. You will waste a lot less time on these tedious tasks and be able to concentrate on your research work.

Whether you have one or a thousand sequences to analyse, KoriBlast will help you. When you schedule a Blast search, you effectively have the possibility of supplying your sequence probes in batches. These may come from sequence files or they may be obtained by direct queries to NCBI servers.

KoriBlast can retrieve the known data from sequences from databases: descriptions, annotations and taxonomic data. While this information is retrieved manually using a traditional web interface, it is now retrieved automatically and in a very elegant way by KoriBlast. For each database sequence, only the data located in the alignment zones is retrieved. This system provides a major advantage when comparing your sequences with genomes for example. Instead of retrieving all the annotations for all the genomes with which your sequences are aligned, KoriBlast will only deliver information located in the alignment zones. The volume of information to analyse is thus considerably reduced whilst being more pertinent.

Features and sequence alignment

Schedule Multiple Blast searches quickly The KoriBlast interface has been specially designed to enable you to schedule multiple Blast searches quickly. Whatever the number of sequences you have to analyse, all Blast searches will be conducted automatically by KoriBlast.

When working with public resources (NCBI and EBI), Koriblast will respect their recommendations by spreading searches regularly over time. However, if you are working locally, KoriBlast will run just-in-time searches, using your computing resources to the best of their capacities.

Design search strategies For the first time, a search system in the sequence databases will enable you to design powerful search strategies automatically combining Blast execution, retrieval of known data for databases sequences, and filtering of results - all in a few clicks of the mouse.

Design search strategies

The filtering of results is another very powerful means of reducing the mass of information to analyse. This system simply enables you to retain from the Blast results only those hits that meet your selection criteria. These criteria apply to values calculated by Blast (scores, sequence similarities, alignment coordinates, etc.) and to data from databases (sequence descriptions, annotations and taxonomic data).

"Blast execution + data retrieval + filtering": our solution to enable you to analyze only data relevant to your research.
